ParticipantYou’ve got a lot of people making close to minimum wage plus tips in Vegas, so it shouldn’t be hard to find somebody who can afford $850/ month for a 1 bd and who can’t afford to buy or doesn’t plan on staying in Vegas for long. On the other hand, finding a buyer for that condo might be a problem.

ParticipantThey’re subsidized by SDG&E somehow, so you’re getting them way below cost. I used these years ago when they first came out and they burned out faster than a string of cheap Christmas lights (except they cost about as much as a Christmas tree back then), so I gave up on them, but I figure that for 25c each, you can’t go wrong.
I read on the Energy Star site that you should leave them on for at least 15 minutes each time you use them to extend their life.
What are the good brands that you’ve found?Doofrat

ParticipantI made the mistake of thinking that the Internet would make people better informed decision makers. I think that the Internet has given people like the Piggingtons’ access to tools to share data and ideas, and somebody with an open mind can take that and make an informed decision. The other 99% of the population still just goes with whatever they hear and read in the popular media, or what their friends and colleagues parrot from the popular media. Of course we know that Real Estate and related industries advertise heavily in the media, and the government wasn’t about to go on television and say that housing is a huge bubble, so it isn’t a surprise that this got extended so far.
I’m thinking it’ll probably always be like this.Doofrat
