ParticipantI think one of the reasons are that there are more video cameras around and the Internet facilitates the distribution. I don’t think that fifteen years ago a car wash would generally have a good video system and even if it did, the tape might end up in police hands, then only be aired locally. Fifteen years ago, soldiers didn’t have a small video camera and an Internet connection – the puppy would have been thrown off a cliff and that’d be it.
Also, I feel that the Internet news services need plenty of these headlines to lure you into clicking on their news link. , just like the teasers used to do for the nightly news.Doofrat

ParticipantI think Rich used 2005 income increases of 4.6% on one of the bubble primer charts, but it was probably lower this year.
The $200,000 amount is only what somebody paid for the house in 99′, not what it was worth, so doing a calculation for fun is fine, but I wouldn’t base any decision on it. It’s almost ten years later and your target house and neighborhood are ten years older and the economy is in disarray unlike in 99′. Try finding out what rent for an equivalent house would be and use the Price to rent ratio from 99′ of about 11 or 12.http://piggington.com/has_price_to_annualized_rent_ever_been_normal_in_san_diego

ParticipantThanks for the tips, I didn’t even think about the speed of the memory, and the burner is a great idea, if not kind of expensive, but I’m sure they’ll come down in price.
We’re probably going to take the shorter battery life for having a larger screen though so it’ll be easier to frame up what’s being shot underwater.Doofrat
