On landscaping, not sure how often you spend time on your backyard, you might also consider trees, patio or gergola for shading. If your backyard facing east, no issue because your house will provide shading in the afternoon. If facing west, then your backyard need shading. On the types of structure for shading, you will need to check with your Pardee on what portion of the yard is in the firezone. ParticipantZK, congrats on the purchase. Based on the sf, I believe you made a purchase in Bridge Ridge. The prior release was asking from 820K-880K without the canyon view. I believe the premium for your lot cots more than 80K+. Is Pardee going to install iron or glass fence?
I also made a purchase with Pardee near that area last year, love the neighborhood and community.
On landscaping, not sure on your budget, you might want to consider fake grass, pavers and succulent plants. I end up with pavers because they more stronger and do no crack like stamped concrete. Hope that helps.

ParticipantFreaking unbelievable! Why trade for Suburban when you can get better mileage and less depreciation for a Prius, Accord or Camry? Oh, some big sacrifice. What’s wrong with leftover? Isn’t it still food if not spoiled? Man, these people need to learn to be frugal and humble. Maybe someone should send this family to a 3rd world country to see what life is like so they can appreciate what they have instead of whining about what they used to have.
