ParticipantI would recommend Koi Palace in Colma/Daily City. The place is packed during lunch and be prepared to wait. R & G Lounge for Asian food if you near Chinatown or North Beach.

ParticipantNo doubt the 335i is a great ride but I would avoid the 335i until they put a permanent fix on the High Pressure Fuel Pump issues. I was going to buy a used convertible 08-10 and found out too many issues with the fuel pump and too many repeated repairs without any success.
Here’s the info: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=333519
Besides, I believe the 2012 or 2013 is a new or redesign from the previous generation.

Participantsf2sd, I also moved from SF area to SD and been here for 4 years. I used to lived in Russian Hill, Fremont, and Santa Clara. SD reminds me of the peninsula, must slower and less hassle than the city.
One area you might want to consider is Carmel Valley. This area has newer homes than Del Mar or other coast areas. You will definitely find a very nice home for less than $2M or more than if you look for custom build. School here is also excellent and within the same Del Mar school district. As for hotel, try the Grand Del Mar. You will find many custom homes as you drive through toward the entrance of the hotel.

ParticipantShadowfax, another area you might want to consider, if you work in the peninsula, is Cupertino. That area is well known for its school being one of the best in SF areas.
