ParticipantI thought a very important point about Prechter was the advice taken from his newletters since 1980 when converted to a portflio has *slightly underperformed the overall stock market*. Courtesy of Hulbert Financial Digest.
Important to use the Hulbert Financial Digest and check the performance records of the doomsayers and so called “market timers”.

ParticipantLove South Park, North Park, Univ Heights,Mission Hills, Bankers Hill! I think this is the best place to live in SD. Especially if you are less of a typical Socal type, and more of a Boston/SF/Seattle/Portland/Lower Manhattan/Europe vibe.
Like another poster said, it doesn’t feel like cookie cutter, sterile, artificial, plastic, strip center SoCal (i.e Carmel Valley and pretty much anything East of 5 North County)…but you still get the great SoCal weather!

ParticipantI agree on the REO’s (at least in terms of what I’ve seen). They used to be priced really well in in mid ’08 to mid ’09, but now they are way overpriced. I think there are much better deals to be had on short sales. They will wake up and smell the coffee soon and reduce prices.

ParticipantI’m looking more in the metro SD area condo’s and 2-4 units. And yes I have definately noticed lot’s of price reductions.
