Yep. And they did it for AIG, Bear Sterns, Citibank, BofA, Wells Fargo, and a growing list of other failed companies the Fed and Paulson won’t disclose. We’ll see who sticks around.
Rustico said it. It should be no surprise the builders want in, and if gas prices come off this low airlines will be next.
The line for a bailout is getting longer by the minute.

ParticipantI find it a little curious how insistent the media is in stating Obama has absolutely no involvement with this whatsoever pointing out that the DA has gone out of his way to make this clear.
It’s a little too insistent IMO, and don’t forget Obama is the guy who had his opponents removed from the ballot in the 1996 election race for a Senate seat.

Participant
Hi Cooprider, on one hand they freeze foreclosure and on the other hand they will lower the mortgage rate to the bottom so this should help “first time buyers” from “remain priced out of the market” …… but keeping price inflated artificially!!!
Regulator sees mortgage rates below 4 percent
Hi KIBU, you’re right. What you get then are more homes purchased at artificially high prices by people who choose not to wait even longer for prices to bottom, or return to affordability.
Then as prices fall further those people who did buy in that time end up owing more than their house is worth too.
Even those they “help” stand to lose more later as their home will have lost even more value after the moratorium.
