CoronitaParticipantThe other thought process is that, now that the dow is approaching 20,000….People “feel” more wealthy……
CoronitaParticipantI’m thinking more like banks are going to relax lending standards again… so more populists can buy a home they really can’t afford with borrowed money they really don’t understand and can’t really afford. And so, as long as they have reasonable payments, initially, it won’t matter what the loan terms are or what interest rates are….The biggest issue will be people who can’t come up with the downpayment. So perhaps they’ll bring back very little down loans again too.
CoronitaParticipant
ebay has improved my ability to acquire ridiculously overpriced japanese denim for a small fraction of retail, slightly used.
thanks trump. u fat pig.
Don’t worry, we’ll be making jeans again shortly. The material and parts will be good quality parts…from Taiwan…..
CoronitaParticipant.
CoronitaParticipant

I agree, zk. Trumpismo is pretty much the beginning of the end of american exceptionalism which is ironic because Trumpistas voted for America First.
Total BS. American Exceptionalism can’t be killed by one man. That’s the same BS that the right wing nut job have been peddling for the last 8 years.
Here’s my prediction…
– Housing: more expensive
– Income: higher
– Rent: higher
– Stock: higher
– Inflation: higher
– Labor participation: higher
– Standard of living: better than it is today
I think I would agree with you except I would add the one thing. The wealth gap is gonna get a lot wider too. Note to self. Don’t fall down, or you are going to get left behind.
CoronitaParticipantFinally, I predict if you want to become famous, post video severely criticizing Trump, then wait for Trump to take the time to tweet about you…kinda like what happened to the Carrier union boss, lol.
CoronitaParticipantI predict it will cost me.a heck of lot more to buy a Porsche 911s in a few years.
I predict Fiat will pull out of the U.S.
I also predict clean diesel from VW is dead in North America for the next decade. Too bad.
CoronitaParticipantIn the past, I’ve tried to straddle the issue by splitting one part of my investments into passive buy and hold index funds, and a more “active” portion of picking individuals funds/stocks. The index funds were meant to be “set it and forget it” just in case.
I don’t really know what caused me to sell off even that. Because I’ve never touched that portion for years until November of this year.
Admittedly, trump really really spooked me out. And the mistake I made was emotion based. So…lesson learn from me was, don’t go nut-so even on the portion of the portfolio that you aren’t suppose to touch….Oh well… Chalk this up as a lesson learned.
CoronitaParticipant

It would be nice to throw a phone/tablet/laptop into one thing.
The other thing that will be interesting to see is what apple does. I’m thinking maybe they can run the full OSX on ARM now too and not have a separate iOS….
At least for tablets/laptops. If that’s the case, would Apple drop x86 from their desktop too?
I don’t know if Apple is even attempting this, because their iOS market is IMHO much stronger than their OSX market. So, it would be dumb to drop iOS. Which is why you haven’t seen anything like this from Apple. They’re heading down the patch of the two OS being aware of each other instead of combining into one.
Perhaps….
There was this suggesting that Sierra might support their ARM A11 Hurricane processor…
macOS Sierra code suggests Apple could replace Intel in Macs with custom ARM chips
I don’t think from an app developer, there’s too much difference in the API’s between iOS and those in OSX (where the later is a more restrictive set).
I’m not sure if the APIs are at parity, especially when you’re talking about UI API. Then there’s also the fact that iOS app does not scale well because the API set is designed by a phone size screen. That’s why you don’t have as nearly as many iPad apps as iPhone apps, because it’s not easy to just create another view for larger screen. So, the app developers would have to update their app if Apple allow iOS app submission into OSX. Microsoft have been working on OneCore with one set of API for a few years now. So, I’m sure if it’s as easy as you think it is. Especially when you have to worry about backward compatibility.
Good point…

CoronitaParticipantYou know, frankly, I’m sick and tired of wherever I go, everything is Made in China…. I miss the good old American days, where I could find products in America that were made of the utmost highest quality, where manufacturing products meant building things with good material and things that would last……
I miss the days, when you look underneath the products found in this country, you could see the label that screams a quality made product. The label would read
“Made in Taiwan” 🙂
CoronitaParticipantMaybe the Trump fear factor is working after all….
Of all things, Foxconn (Taiwan) just announced they’ll be investing in the u.s. too. Though, I’m not sure if you want to work at foxconn….
CoronitaParticipant

It is not wise to go all cash. Don’t time to market. Nobody can do it accurately. A smart thing to do is stay invested.
you would have singing a different tune if things went the other way. just saying…
True, probably. I still wouldn’t sell, would probably buy more shares when it dropped. Admit failure is the first step to success.
But if you stayed invested, then where would you get the cash to buy more?
buy on margin, lol..
