CoronitaParticipantHey ocrenter. I thought you might get a laugh out of this.. So me and sign other were at La Jolla Playhouse for a concert when all the sudden sign other starts to get all sniffly because this old lady sitting next to her is wearing a cheap perfume that starts make her nose twichy. So she starts to sneeze. And this poor old lady who looks like she is in her 70ies starts to glare at us, and looks frightened. sign other totally felt bad and we leave during intermission….And I’m laughing all the way home..Sign other commenting “did you see how that lady was looking at me every single time I sneezed becuas of her cheap perfume? I heard her whispering…maybe we should move” I’m like yeah, because you clearly violated social etiquette rule S.W.A….. Sneezing While Asian.
Anyway, being the flunpersom inam who always tried to look at things at a positive angle, I was stategizng how we could use this fearto our advantage. We figured out if there’s a long line and we’re tired of waiting, we’ll whip out out our masks and start coughing while speaking Chinese….I think it might work and get the lines to scatter…..lol
CoronitaParticipant.
CoronitaParticipantJust about every Chinese person in Taiwan and China knows what’s going on with the official numbers versus reported numbers because this is what the PRC government does and we are use to it.
CoronitaParticipantit’s more than 500 deaths in China.
CoronitaParticipantI’ve never made decent money shorting. not worth the effort for me. For every short that was right short lived there was a short that didn’t work out so the net effect was a bunch of trades that did nothing.
CoronitaParticipantThe word going around is the quarantines in the cities in China are being done to isolate.tje most infected people to let them die in the city. The word is the People’s liberation army has been already sent there to ensure order, not necessarily to relieve health care workers, and media/reporters are being turned away and censored so they can’t report on what is going on.
CoronitaParticipantlooks like we will be even cheaper commodities.

CoronitaParticipantHere’s an interesting thing about the Coronavirus.
Right now there’s a cruise ship in Japan that japanese authorities have quarantined all people and only let off the sick people for treatment. But at the same time, you see the number of cases growing on the cruise ship really fast.
I suspect this virus is highly contagious and directly related to how close and long you are to an infected person and directly related to density of people. By quarantining everyone on that ship, Japanese authorities are turning that ship into a petridish for the virus to rapidly spread among people . On the other hand, I suspect we won’t have that many cases from all the evacuees sent to Miramar since most of them are quarantined a good distance from other people
people have been on that ship for days and that ship is like a closed system with a high population density
CoronitaParticipant

Doctor that tried to alert people of this virus early on but was silenced by the government has died.
Can’t even get straight info that he died.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/feb/06/whistleblower-chinese-doctor-dies-from-coronavirusThere probably over 100k cases between under-reporting, people not sick enough to get treatment, and delay in data.
UK, Canada, and UK advising all citizens to leave China. Wonder if they anticipate all passenger transport to/from China to be shutdown soon.
Yeah pretty awful and sad. RIP

CoronitaParticipant
I’ll go out on a limb and say that a 5-10% drop in the stock markets will occur within the next 3 months or so. The next earning reports are going to be bad (maybe with the exception of medical supply companies) due to this coronavirus thing. Airline companies, apple, fast food (KFC,MCD) they are all fvked.
starbucks closed half of its 4200 stores in china
I think you’ll have airlines and companies with exposure to china already factored in with a correction in those specific sectors. However, I think you’ll see good performance in sectors where china just dropped the trade tariffs in 1/2. Biotech and pharma will probably do well.
CoronitaParticipantOh and Brian. That Asian woman in NYC that was attacked for wearing a mask because the attacker thought she had the virus…. Guess what? The attacker wasn’t white. He was black. check out the video. You won’t find the race mentioned in the written article because media never writes the race if they are black or Latino..only if they are Asian or white.
oooof. So much for your white racism theory….

CoronitaParticipant
Carry a 5 Gal jug of chlorox with you at all times.
Don’t hang out with Asian people like me or go places where lots of Asians congregate. or if you do wear a mask and gloves.
Wait wait wait. I know.
[img_assist|nid=26951|desc=|link=node|align=left | width=400]What? Asian people do that. They put on mask and gloves when they enter Ranch 99 and then take them off when they leave. And all the cashiers at HMart and Zion are all wearing masks and gloves now.
Some asian person got all butt hurt I said that. But then I asked her if she had a problem seeing people wear a mask when they entered an Asian supermarket and then took them off once they left but didn’t do that in a Vons or Trader Joe’s. Dead silence. Then I asked if she wore a mask when she entered an Asian supermarket and took it off after she left. Dead silence.
Lol.
CoronitaParticipant
If it becomes more of an issue here, I will definitely not be taking public transportation.
This is where car culture and suburbia works LOL.
Where a mask and latex gloves. 🙂
