CoronitaParticipantI call this Karma paying the PRC Communist government back, which is long overdue. Now, PRC has a choice. Continue as it has been all along, or reform. World is watching.
CoronitaParticipantKeep in mind how the world got into this mess to begin with.
Ghetto China, and PRCs failure to recognize this was a problem even when doctors and medical professionals (some who have died) were warning people this was a SARS like virus.
One positive aspect though, is the world has woken up that it depended on China way too way too long, something that probably will now change moving forward. This virus did a much more effective job crippling China’s manifacturing basis and economy than the tarriffs did. Good
If the stock market keeps tanking, if production lines stay closed, if thousands of people die, people may re-think whether his cuts to the CDC and other programs were such a wise thing and whether four years of Trump have left them better than before.
Just so there’s no confusion, you 2 are claiming that Trump has caused and/or exacerbated the coronavirus by cutting the CDC budget and elimination of a pandemic response team.
Care to provide a link with the data to support this claim?
I did not state that, you put words in my mouth. I stated people may re-think whether cuts to the CDC were a good idea. They may come to the conclusion that it made the coronavirus spread worse, whether or not that has any basis in fact.
Personally, I think the whole coronavirus thing is overblown. Only the very old or those with medical conditions are dying, for the most part. We could say the same thing about the flu.
The worst part would be dealing with the illness and, at least if it continues, the isolation for two weeks.
I’m still going out to all the places I normally go, taking the trips I normally take, leading my normal life.
What we dont want is for the coronavirus to become a seasonal illness like the flu. Imagine getting the flu and then coronavirus then another strain of flu all in one season.
It will. too late. But given the attention to it it won’t be long before there’s a vaccine. And then there will be mutations and then more vaccines. Biotech will do well.
If there’s any possibility of once infected, your body can build an auto-immune response, then sign me up, Id rather get it sooner than later.
I’m of the opinion that eventually, it’s just a matter of time we all get it.Most of the disposable masks won’t even work, even most of of the N95 ones..Need N100/P100 really. The ones you really need are the ones one uses to paint a car. I have them, and even then, they have to be put on correctly..There’s been times I had mine on and started to paint and realized that a proper seal wasnt created between my face and the mask because I could smell it. So I doubt most people would even know how to properly put it on to be effective.
Bare minimum if you are really *that* worried
CoronitaParticipantSo this has turned into a trump thread. Congrats Brian….again…. and again
. and again…
CoronitaParticipantapparently, people are running around with their heads cut off. Paranoid friend in Bay area wanted me to go buy some masks because the are all sold out in Bay area. Apparently, they are all sold out here too and costco is short of supplies like toilet paper.
Glad I have a Toto washlet. lol.
Food at ranch 99 is a bargain now.
CoronitaParticipantNew York reporting a case. With a much heavier dependence on public transportation, it could get ugly in NY and NJ… ride sharing, cabs, subways
CoronitaParticipantHistory will look back at this and remember China as the cause of this. Supply chain concentrated in China no more. good riddance.
Coronavirus: Made In China
CoronitaParticipant
Unlike you flu, i don’t post market updates as an argument for or against anything.
I discuss the broad trends that affect the economy. When I created the thread the intention was to discuss the conditions that would less you a recession 2 years later.
I’m just calling you on your game. Market updates, anyone?
As far as Trump, you are the one making the connections to Trump.
Bullshit you don’t. You posted updates anytime there was any news that fit your narrative even if it had nothing to do with your original narrative. The only reason why you haven’t posted any updates until now was there literally was NOTHING supporting your narrative, and you went into hiding because you were looking like an idiot because until a completely unrelated Coronavirus came into existence, you were itching for any excuse to post about Trump tanking the economy. So for pretty much most of last Q4 and beginning of January you disappeared and went into hiding. Because the trump destroying the economy thesis literally blew up in your face. And as I predicted, you came right back the moment anything would fit your narrative even if the narrative has changed. lol . And I guarantee the moment the markets no long fit your narrative again, you’ll go right back into hiding as you always do. That was that one thing you did that was comical, because you started talking about the economy and stock market despite knowing very well you have no game in equity markets….. like you do all the time with many things. But please do keep up the narrative… Because like I said, things tend to go the opposite of what you predict. lol
CoronitaParticipantSure Brian . Because your crystal ball accurately predicted the coronavirus out of thing air. Gotcha. See. This is exactly what I mean when I say your type of people come out of hiding the moment something comes out that supports your narrative even if it had nothing to do with your original narrative. When the markets recover , you’ll go right back into hiding. Because that’s your MO. I’m waiting you to connect the dots to Trump on this one. One thing is for certain. China certainly won’t be the same again. They certainly are to blame for this and they lost a lot of credibility in the world. The world has finally figured out the lying sack of shit the PRC are, that many already knew about. Glad it finally blew up in their face. Now, companies will finally diversify supply chains away from China. Good. hallelujah.
But please keep talking about the recession and how awful things are, because it certainly seems like there’s a strong correlation that once you do, things end up backfiring and doing the opposite of what you are so confident about. Lol.

CoronitaParticipant

I have my gold bullion bars in my safe along with my Glock, and respirators for painting cars that should filter viruses too. I have a few vegetables in the backyard and bags of rice.
Did I miss anything else I should stock up on?
:)
Toilet paper.
I’ve worked at grocery stores before. First thing to go!
And water.
I don’t need toilet paper. I have a Toto Washlet on my toilets!!!!
And I have a 70 gallon water heater tank for water.
CoronitaParticipantSo here’s a true story. My kid has this Chinese friend and her parents are totally paranoid about this virus. They are the ones before coming over , asking parents of they’ve been to China or if their kids have cold symptoms.
They went as far as not goinf to Mira Mesa because Mira Mesa had too many asians, and pulled their kids out of Chinese school. Their cars were full of masks and supplies , and when kid still had a left over cough from a cold , told their kid not to hang around my kid…. Ok fine.
Fast forward this week. Their kid came down with something and was running a 103F temperature on Monday. Kid doesn’t have flu shot. Ok fine. But get this. Yesterday, the kid still is running a fever, still is sick, and parents send her to school, like it’s no big deal. Their kid at school is about to pass out, and my kid was like WTF are you doing here in school, you’re going to get everyone else sick. Her parents don’t care.
Typical selfish, hypocritical Chinese.”Don’t bring your kids near my kid and I even if they aren’t sick anymore… But if my kid is sick, to the hell with you. I don’t want to pay extra for daycare and keep the kid at home”
CoronitaParticipantI have my gold bullion bars in my safe along with my Glock, and respirators for painting cars that should filter viruses too. I have a few vegetables in the backyard and bags of rice.
And my freezer is always full, including the dead body I stashed away.Did I miss anything else I should stock up on?
🙂
CoronitaParticipant
I can see healthcare workers spreading it soon. Hell I and 4 others got influenza A right after the xmas party even though we all got the flu shot. I wonder if it can sojourn in our local fauna.
If it were, we should have already have seen many cases pop up in SoCal already since SoCal has so much travel with Asia and the virus started much sooner than the official report out of china. So far there is one suspected case of transmission from someone contagious. That’s the case in Sacramento. Unless, for some reasons, this virus for many here is simply like a cold and nothing more, and people just didn’t think anything of it and it passes.
Interesting that Long Island on the other hand is seeing around 80 in isolation. it will be interesting to see how many of those actually turn our to be infections.
