ParticipantLike everyone is already saying, the price totally depends on what you want to do. I’d write down in as much detail as you can what you want and get a few people out to give you an estimate so you have some idea on price.
As far as which is more stressful….they are both stressful. We are going through this decision ourselves except ours isn’t remodel or move; it’s add on or move. For me I think finding a house that we want, selling, buying, remodeling (I don’t think there’s any way we’d find a house that meets our criteria that is turn-key), and moving out/in seems more challenging so I’m really leaning towards adding on. We’ve remodeled the whole house in stages while living in it so I know what to expect there. We’re planning on living here during the addition construction, just moving into the areas of the house that are not being worked on. If the entire house was being remodeled all at once I’d probably want to find a place to rent for a couple of months.

ParticipantWe used to go to our closest Vons all the time because we used to walk or ride bikes there. But they have gone downhill ever since the last strike and since they remodeled. I made the mistake of going in there on a Saturday recently and you’d think you were in another country with the ridiculous lines they had. It was unbelievable and there were only 2 open registers! We split up with one of us getting in line immediately and the other one weaving through people to grab items. By the time I passed my husband in line with bananas and he hadn’t moved since we got there he said we were leaving and we walked out. Out in the parking lot I saw the manager and the cart guy leisurely chatting away outside.
Albertsons and their new “rewards” program is super lame. They always seem to be trying a gimmick and this is the latest one trying to cover up their higher prices so you feel like you are saving money.
I try to get a lot of my packaged food at WalMart and then go to Henry’s, Earth Market, or TJ’s for produce and bulk items. I also get some things on subscribe & save through Amazon.

ParticipantJust when I think we’ve finally reached a topic where someone couldn’t possibly be a subject matter expert……I’m wrong again.
