ParticipantHi SD R,
I’m watching this closely as well as we want to refi our rental home. I noticed on Bankrate that usually I would get up to 10 different quotes, now I’m only seeing about 5 come up for this area….do you think this is due to the credit crunch, just not as many willing to finance in this region?? Mortgage Capital Assoc. usually had lower rates and quote a reasonable fee, they are at 5.1% today…not too bad…
What are your thoughts on how low this could go? I’m excited to get this done though and long term have a great rate and save some $$$. On the flipside, we too had a CD resetting, but it locked in beggining of month, still not too good though.
Can’t have it all!

ParticipantHappyhunting…I’ve worked with MANY realtors and finally found one that we’re happy with in Temecula. If you’re interested I can give you her info. She’s very hard working and won’t steer you in a different direction…I’d have to agree that it sounds as if your realtor is trying to get the most for themselves…the more they can sell you the more their commission…always remember that you are your only advocate in this buying process!
Buyer’s agent, whatever that means! How can someone be a buyer’s agent when there’s an anherent conflict of interest built into how they are paid….I really hope that the self listing brokerages really take off and change how real estate is exchanged someday! Back from my rant on that….if you do want her info. let me know.

ParticipantWe’ve considered moving to Temecula…and maybe into a home with some land…what do you locals think about Los Ranchitos. Recently I’m seeing big depreciation there. I liked the local as it’s as far south in Tem as you get, it’s acreage, and it’s in town…let me know what you know of this area. Bearvine, seems you really know the nicer areas…why wasn’t this on your list? Just curious. I also had looked in La Cresta/De Luz, but the inconvenience of being out there would concern me (especially with fire danger).
Also, can you all fill me in on the details of the planned hospital…I hope it’s not run by the same ridiculous group that has the 2 HORRIBLE hospitals in Murrieta! My mother in law went to emergency there once and it was absurd! Not having a good hospital in the area is a huge deterent for me, so I’m really interested on this hospital you all were talking about!
