During the boom years one of the things that really bugged me was the pompous way house sellers would write in the listing, “Seller Will Entertain Offers Between $550K – $600K.” Or they would many times shorten that to, “Seller will EOB $550K – $600K.” Sometimes they didn’t even have time to write all that out and instead would only put, “SWEOB 550k-600k.”

So my response became my Piggington pen name, “BuyerWillEPB,” short for “Buyer Will Entertain Prices Below what YOU paid for it.”

I truly have nothing against scruffy dog personally. Really.

I think it’s the way this post demonstrates the pervasiveness of the housing boom that makes me remember it. The way the housing boom was so “Sure thing” and the way us Piggington’s were so “crazy” is why I bring this back from the past.
