Makes for a nice balance. Problem is, WSJ makes one pay to read it online.

San Jose’s pension payments jumped from $73 million in 2001 to $245 million this year, equal to 27 percent of its general fund budget. Voters there approved construction bonds at the beginning of the last decade, but four new libraries and a police station have never opened because the city cannot afford to operate them.

If they don’t want fatty or salty food? Cook at home or find meals/restaurants suite them. Eat a bit too much? Go to the gym. Walk around the block.
The problem that I have with these kind of laws (i.e the happy meal’s toys ban in San Francisco) is that they keep re-enforcing people that it’s not their fault for the choices that they’ve made.
Is Gatorade on the ban list? It has electrolyte!
blakeParticipantGreat! Just another excuse for people to not take responsibility for their own actions. What’s next?
Hamburgers/cheeseburgers can’t have more than one beef patty?
Ban on large pizzas? Pizzas can’t have more than 3 toppings?
Steaks can’t be larger than 8oz?

No. Unlike these guys
27. If you convicted of arson, can you still keep your pensions?
No. Unlike this guy
All these “if you [fill in the blank], then why don’t you [fill in the blank]” and “my job is harder than your job” arguments are just to deflect the issue. The only thing that they need is the “neener neener” at the end.
