ParticipantYou people crack me up. Arguing about whether someone deserves to make $100K or $70K a year or whatever. Meanwhile the hedge fund managers and Goldman Sachs goons are raking in millions a year by gutting your country and stealing your tax money. Nary a peep about whether they’re overpaid, let’s instead focus on a principal making $150K or a teacher making $70K or whatever.
This country is doomed! Back to sleep, everyone…

ParticipantThis is one of the big reasons that I recently bought a home even knowing that prices are probably still headed down for several years to come. We couldn’t stay in our rental because it no longer suited our needs, so we would have to find another. There are so many of these landlords in trouble and there’s a good chance that you might get stuck with one after choosing a rental. Now you have to deal with realtors or maybe the sheriff in an extreme situation and have to move on short notice. No thanks. I’ll pay the ownership penalty for a house where at least I can stay put in peace without worrying about the landlord or whether I am going to have to move at any moment. Plus I HATE moving. It is time-consuming and expensive. Going into another rental would have guaranteed that we’d be moving at least one extra time. So we bought a house and I don’t care if it’s worth less 5 years from now because I’m staying put.

ParticipantIt is worth nothing (although he may very well be guilty) that all of the early reports of this tragedy indicated multiple shooters, multiple suspects and that this guy is one of them. Also I hate to have to say this, but this is the USA. People are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law here. I remember 1995 when everyone was immediately blaming the Aye-rabs and it turned out to be McVeigh.
As an aside, I find it hard to believe that a psychologist was able to shoot 43 people on an Army base full of trained soldiers before being taken down. My suspicion is that there were multiple shooters and that this guy may have been one of them. They may be keeping the identities of the other suspects secret for security reasons.
