ben_voParticipantScarlett,
Check out this one: 5688 DESERT VIEW La Jolla, CA 92037
but it seems to be too good to be true… something must be wrong there… maybe this is next to the land slide…

ben_voParticipantI’ve been to Southpointe several times and have seen a few types of condos there (as well as in a number of other areas in La Jolla). Overall it is not bad for the price and it is definitely much better than Eastbluff. One thing I agree with is that it is a little dense and not private. I would not be concerned about the size. However, I personally do not like a three level set up (if this is the case here). In terms of the schools, I know for sure that the elementary school is Torrey Pines Elementary (as the son of a friend of mine who lives on Mallorca goes to that school). I am not sure about the middle and high schools.
One complex you could consider more optimal is La Jolla Shores Heights (right on the other side of Gilman Dr). It is probably somewhat more expensive but it is almost a walking distance to the elementary school, UCSD, and the beach. It is also a less dense place and more private. They have two-family units (compared to multi-family units in Southpointe). I am not sure if there is anything currently on sale there though.
