Participant“Speaking of shoes…has anyone seen Sex and the City yet?”
Dharmagirl–Yes!! Loved it. I guess that makes me a typical girl, but I was a big fan of the series and really enjoyed the movie. Have you seen it?
Marion–Back to the main topic at hand. . . moneyshot and FLU both made good points in that perhaps it isn’t necessary to buy yourself a GPS. My hubbie uses the Verizon Wireless GPS service on his phone and that works well. I should have clarified that his Garmin is one of those personal ones specifically designed for runners. Since he is on the road half the month and running in unfamiliar cities, it is useful for him to plot out his runs without getting himself hopelessly lost. Since you sound thrifty–maybe buying a new gadget isn’t the best solution for your problem? Just a thought.

ParticipantDharmagirl–
Glad you liked the piperlime.com site!! I love them–and they have free returns, which is key when you are mail-ordering something like shoes.
Marion–we’re still waiting to hear where you were shoe shopping in Oceanside! π

ParticipantMarion,
I echo dharmagirl’s disbelief that you were shoe shopping in Oceanside!! nordstrom.com or piperlime.com would be MUCH better choices, and you wouldn’t get lost! I just picked up two pairs from nordstrom.com myself. . .
As for the GPS, my husband also has a Garmin personal one that he uses for running, and he LOVES it. The only caveat I would add is to keep your receipt, as his failed unexpectedly, but the company’s customer service was excellent, and they immediately replaced it.
