Ash HousewaresParticipant
I think I can end your debate…
That’s a pretty appropriate introduction for someone with the name Omega Point.
Ash HousewaresParticipantThanks for the link PC. That video makes it easy for the layman to understand what’s going on (I even got it!). I forwarded the link to a bunch of others…

Ash HousewaresParticipantWhy these banks make loans to people with so little skin in the game is beyond me. The banks take almost all the risk (if the market declines) and the buyer gets all the reward (if market appreciates). They made a bad business decision in loaning the money in the first place, plain and simple.
Think of it this way: by walking, your friend is effectively spending the 5% (~30k? can’t remember the purchase price) down to receive 100k debt reduction. Sounds like a good deal to me. He’d be crazy not to walk.

Ash HousewaresParticipantHe should walk away with the 90k and live with dinged credit for a few years. He won’t want to buy again for a few years anyway.
Forget about “honor” or whatever you want to call it. The banks knew they were taking a risk and they lost. They deserve to eat the loss (assuming no fraud on the application).

Ash HousewaresParticipantWhat happens if the person being suckered wises up? Does the last “wall” bid get canceled and the last “real” bid get accepted? Moral: always sit in the back.

Ash HousewaresParticipantDo those things, lk and your fellow Socialists, and Red Staters like me will be open to discussing broad aid to folks. Without such, it is money down the drain, and you can ‘include us out.’
Since you’re so keen on facts jg, it might interest you to know that you “red staters” receive more federal aid than you contribute in tax revenues.

Looks like your buddies will be the ones begging for aid, not lk and her kind.

Ash HousewaresParticipantI found the second part of the movie, about 9/11 and war, to be the most interesting. I had previously thought the people who called 9/11 an inside job were nut balls, now after seeing that movie I am not so sure. The buildings collapsed at nearly free-fall speed, columns were photographed looking just as they would if they had been cut, and steel cutting material (thermite) was found in molten steel in the basement, explosions were heard in the basement seconds before the planes stuck, the list goes on… Plus the whole NADCON thing about the training exercise that same day for that exact scenario, which confused the fighter jet response. It’s all circumstantial, but there are so many circumstantial pieces that you begin to wonder if it could be true.
The point of the movie is not to argue about religion or politics (what you believe), but to look at yourself and ask WHY you believe it.

Ash HousewaresParticipantI find it interesting that the bank is so concerned about its stock price. If they focussed on being the best at what they do, the stock would take care of itself with no propaganda necessary. This smells like higher-ups trying to save their bonuses.
