In recent history, we had an 80 y.o. former actor suffering from Alzheimer, community organizer, born again playboy… Trump fits right in.
allParticipant
My cousin lives near the wedding site in NY and it was the talk of the village.
Lots of people were not invited. Trump was not invited. We did go to the inn where the Clintons had breakfast. Overrated.
Ah, bummer. I thought I saw them together that time. It was HRC at Trump’s wedding. You were not invited to that one, either.
allParticipant

And if the rules have been broken it just proves Trump’s (and broader sociological) point that government exists to protect interests of ruling class.
It’s a broad claim that insulates Trump. He won’t fix anything.
Trump is like a mafia boss or a Russian oligarch. They do anything they want because they have power and they brag about it.
If you belong to the boss’ gang and kiss his ass some of his patronage will come your way.
There is nothing to fix. Trump was invited to former and future first-daughter’s wedding and you were not.
allParticipant

I don’t know anyone with EB-1. Aside from you mentioning it, nobody else brought up the possibility.
You linked to the article with a quote from the attorney. You referenced the actual quote.
“Mrs. Trump self-sponsored for a green card as a model of ‘extraordinary ability,’ and on March 19, 2001 she was admitted to the United States as a lawful permanent resident.”
Good catch. Self sponsorship presumes EB-1 as the other options require a sponsor.
If Trump wins there will likely be a Congressional investigation and a matching of her immigration file to her work history.
Otherwise we likely won’t know until after her death when someone writes a book. Immigration files are private and cannot be released unless consent is given for release, or after death.
Numbers by country are published annually. Somebody probably has an archive showing EB-1 and H-1B3 applicants from Slovenia for the years in question.
Either way – so what? Nothing can be done if she did not lie on her citizenship application (which is why they ask ‘stupid’ questions, like are you a terrorist). And if the rules have been broken it just proves Trump’s (and broader sociological) point that government exists to protect interests of ruling class. Trump getting Department of State to do him a favor, HRC campaign getting Department of State to intervene with FBI… none of that would happen if it was Brian who needed help.

allParticipantEB-1 is an employment-based immigrant category. Once the petition was approved she became permanent resident, eligible to apply for citizenship 5 years later, assuming other conditions were met (mainly continuous residency and moral character).
Do you think Melania’s immigration status is more important than State Department engaging FBI wrt HRC emails?
allParticipant
So this is the latest on Melania’s immigration status.
Melania released a letter from a lawyer indicating she got an H1-B, a program that Trump opposes and promised to end. After the H1-B, she self-sponsored for a green card. Problem is that an immigrant cannot self sponsor from H1-B to green card. An employer must sponsor.
Also H1-B requires a bachelor degree or better, something Melania doesn’t have.
Still plenty of unanswered questions that Trump could easily put to rest by releasing Melania’s immigration file.
1) Fashion models do not need bachelor, or equivalent for H-1B (sometimes referenced as H1B, but not H1-B).
2) Immigrants of extraordinary abilities can self-sponsor under EB-1.October 14, 2016 at 2:53 PM in reply to: Cutting The Cord– Considering Switching to Sling TV #802299allParticipant

So your not knocking the service due to the quality or price, rather the difficulty to steal?
I don’t consider it stealing when companies allow you to have up to a certain amount of users. Netflix, Sling, and others aren’t idiots and can easily limit the amount of users if necessary. They don’t because they want to remain competitive. For instance, my father shares his Netflix account with my sister and I and we have our own profiles set up and everything.
I’m pretty sure that is against ToS.

Duck, Hillary, duck.allParticipant
Very deplorable situation in my family. My first cousin once removed is visiting. Early 30s, PhD in biology. He didn’t know Aleppo. At least he’s not a trump supporter.
Clearly an outcast who is not taking his prescribed daily dose of MSM. Chemical castration would set him straight.allParticipantThe three friends who had no idea are likely as informed as you are about the issue.
allParticipant
I always vote. Your vote matters down ballot. It’s pathetic how the USA has some of the lowest turnout in the developed world.
Saying that votes don’t matter is a way to discourage young adults who vote little but who should have greater voice in our future. So much for teaching our kids! If you value education, you vote and teach young adults to vote everytime.
You really believe that the ruling class allows Joe Schmo to pick the most powerful person on earth and the leader of the free world every four years?
allParticipant

If the story is true, hope the other two athletes spend some quality time in a Brazilian jail before being fined and deported.
Let’s think it through.
Late night hours, group of partying American tourist.
Gas station says they damage the bathroom and wants money on the spot.
Off duty moonlighting cop is the security guard, draws his weapon.
$50 exchanges hands.
Away people go.
Tourist is an athlete, tells embellished story on major TV.
Country embarrassed, claims false crime report, seizes passports and then settles per country law for a “charity donation” of $10,800.
Makes the shakedowns you heard about in Baja in the 70s-90s seem downright amateurish.
Yep, video. So I was way wrong and it seems at least one of the group may be exactly destructive schmuck people thought.
You were wrong when you decided to look at those swimmers as beacon of freedom and democracy, as opposed to a bag of meat and bones infused with hormones, steroids and healthy dose of arrogance.
