For example, the average american woman owns 19 shoes.
The average British woman owns 17 shoes.Does this mean that the average Anglo woman only has one leg, or that she likes to walk with only one shoe? 😀 Inquiring minds wish to know.

ParticipantMR was calculated as % of the initial sales price. It does not get reset on resale and the initial % is different between subdivisions.
What you get in return are nicer looking and better equipped schools. If you don’t mind the difference between highland ranch and stone ranch elementary, meadowbrook and oak valley middle school and RB high and del norte then paying MR is likely waste.

The Benghazi outpost was not an Embassy. And if we are to believe Allan the ambassador was not just a diplomat, but also a facilitator in weapons proliferation scheme.
Um, yeah, I don’t report the news, chief. Hence my link to the actual news article reporting on the Libya to Syria heavy weapons program.
Nice try, though.
I did not try to imply that you have shared some big secret. You are the resident expert on all things military and geopolitical. To me the article you referenced looks just like the next one. I assumed you can filter out the noise better than most and took your interpretation as more likely to be correct than what others were posting in the thread.

ParticipantAllan’s post in the other thread:
There was an on-going CIA operation to move heavy weapons to Syria and Stevens was providing diplomatic cover for same.

The Supreme Court is wrong, money has completely corrupted our process. Money wasn’t used as free speech. It was used has shout down by both sides, at virtually all levels. The presidential campaign just the direct fundraising by Obama, Romney spent and raised nearly as much as it cost to do the Mars Rover. What a sad waste.Molly Munger spent $44 million on Prop 38. Her brother, with an apparent opposite political view, spent even more on 32 and 30. Aren’t you glad they didn’t just buy Assembly people and Senators. The average spent on the “hot” legislature races is $180K. Imagine what they could have done, spending twice that per race on a candidate of their chosing…
I propose replacing elections with auctions. Whoever pays the most wins with starting price set at the money spent for the same position in the previous election cycle. Money goes into budget and if no one bids the position is clearly not lucrative enough and should be abolished.

I’m sorry to sound flippant, but I think a lot of people have lost sight of what happy means.
There was a Jewish author on NPR few months ago, talking about his life in a concentration camp. He remembered how he would step outside his barrack and feel genuine happiness when crematorium chimneys were not smoking.

While there are risks to working at an Embassy, attacking and killing a Diplomat is a no-no. An Embassy is not to be a ‘war-zone’ or a target. Remember, when one country is seeking negotiations with another country — it generally goes through that country’s Embassy. The whole diplomacy thing relies on it. It also goes to why there is Diplomatic Immunity and Diplomatic packets that can’t be searched. These capabilities should not be used for other purposes. If they are, they are often asked to leave.. and potentially close the Embassy.
The Benghazi outpost was not an Embassy. And if we are to believe Allan the ambassador was not just a diplomat, but also a facilitator in weapons proliferation scheme.

ParticipantThen there is this concerned parent arguing against mandatory year of chemistry for his son.
Because “his son will not be a scientist”, “He’s a really smart kid, just not in chemistry” and the dad wants to spare his son from a year long torture.

ParticipantDepends where in San Marcos and how much time you spend on surface streets before you get to 78. 30 minutes should be doable from CSUSM or Civic Center.

My commute is 25 minutes, not 1 hour (though I would do 1 hour for the right job).
Hi there!
Thanks for all your advice so far on my post. Just curious if you know anyone that commutes from SM to the Tierrasanta/Kearny Mesa areas? How far do you think that commute is? I have tried driving the commute only a few times to get a feel for it and clocked in at about 35 to 40 minutes. Not sure how accurate that was? Figured I’d ask a local who probably knows it a lot better than I!
If you have the flexibility to start at 7am 40 minutes sounds about right.
If you are starting between 8am and 9am you can lose some time in Escondido (78->15 gets bad), around Poway rd on I15 and before 15/163 split.

ParticipantIf we see Anwar al-Awlaki as a legitimate target then the other side would probably argue the local US Ambassador and two ex-seals on government payroll are legitimate targets. The IT guy is collateral damage.
