ParticipantWashington is a great state. My wife and I were seriously loking at Portland. I had a job lined up with Nike and we were ready to leave. In a HIGH END area a 4000 sqft home would be about $400k. The one day watching the news they showed this snow storm and these cars sliding around and hitting each other. Just then I realized I don’t like snow and decided to stay here. Still renting but no shoveling.

ParticipantJust keeping that money in the bank at 5% interest and taking money from it to pay the difference in his monthly mortgage would have been a better idea. Of course he would have to be disiplined and not spend , but I’d rather have $400k cash than own a home that on paper is worth $400k profit.

ParticipantThe homes are priced from 670-730 for homes from 2600-3300 sqft. Some of these where more due to larger lots so they went as high as $780. All sold out. It might be a long weekend thing. Not sure. You do have to admit that out of all of the remaining builders in 4S that John Laing is heads above the other builders. Nicer homes, nicer layouts.
As for incentives you only get 20k if you use the home lender, nothing else. There are some nice upgrades like stainless and granite as well as front yeard landscaping and an AC.

ParticipantSD Realtor. How long does someone have to claim that rebate? If you never had someone represent you then you signed the papers, is it too late to ask the builder?
