ParticipantUmmm, you are comparing CV to RSF? You like RSF because of the variety? You can’t even see the majority of those homes from the street since they are all gated and surrounded by bush. I think you may have had one too many bloody marys this morning.

ParticipantFLU, I thought the same thing about the 56. I thought for sure they were widening it and now it doesn’t seem that way. Unless they take down those barriers then maybe a third lane can be added but for what a mile then all of a sudden a brutal bottleneck will occur causing an even worse backup of traffic.
I just don’t see where this money is being spent. Money for schools? Why the f*ck do people have to pay mello roos for schools if they are collecting bank from the property taxes. Something isn’t right here at all.

ParticipantI beleive tax in Property tax in SD is about 1-1.25%. The rest you are seeing is Mello Roos. It is not really built into you taxes, you just pay them at that level but only 1% goes to the city, the rest goes to the mello roos bond. YOu can write off the property tax but not the mello roos although it is estimated that about 90% of SD home owners writes it off

Participant4S is nearly built out so no nee to worry about them not finishing. There are a lot of homes that have been paying the MR now for the last few years. Del Sur though is far from being built out.

ParticipantThey put this vague statement in.
You must prove that the mello roos went to
“Other similar improvements”
You must love the loopholes.

ParticipantTrader, you are the pure essence of what I don’t like about this board sometimes. Way too many people laughing and gloating at the loss of others. I want the market to come down in price but not at the cost of some families getting screwed out of a home.

ParticipantI remember reading that the IRS estimates that a large percentage of people do write it off but have yet to pursue it. I can see someone doing this for 3 to 4 years then all of a sudden the IRS is up for a cash grab and sends out letters to people that they own $10000 in back taxes.

ParticipantIf MR is built into your property tax then if you pay 1.75% per year then can’t you write it all off?
