    You’re absolutely right, Brian. Worked so well for Nabisco, Kellogg’s, and Kraft, I guess Whole Foods figured “Why not?”

    But, I confess, I get a WF craving now and then. Don’t have a lot of time to cook (in fact, none), so I do a lot of take-away. And sometimes I just burn out on the fried chicken and cheesesteaks. I don’t feel any more noble doing WF. I just want something a little different, where I won’t feel my arteries crackling as I consume it…..

    Just came from there. Their wine prices are immediately noticeably higher (and I’m not a person who normally notices prices at all). I’d say they’re another 20% above liquor store pricing for the exact same bottle of wine.

    $47 for a mondavi chard? That’s crazy talk.

    Not a good place to buy wine.

    It is a fun place to go though. There’s certainly a vibe there.

    I have to admit I also get the craving for Whole Foods every now and again. And my wife really loves the fruits and veggies along with the various cheeses they have. Yeah, they are more expensive but I figure if they can get the money all the power to them.

    Come to think of it…. I’ve never heard of a Whole Foods going belly up or closing after opening. Does anyone know of any stores that have closed as they didn’t make it or weren’t profitable?
