Rust – I was almost through the first page of responses before I realized this thread is 7 months old.
I’ve noticed the same thing though, and I think a big part of it is outside Rich’s updates there are more political hot-button discussions here than how to play your money in this market as Scoreboard and others said.
Maybe it’s because there’s no more debate that housing was inflated, it’s just a question of how far and how long, but even that varies from neighborhood.
As we wait this out though, and our savings gets eroded by rates to primarily help the irresponsible it would be nice to have some good input even just on how to beat inflation.

July 6, 2008 at 11:59 PM #234229NotCrankyParticipantI wonder if it is possible that the great American obssesion with housing isn’t almost over? No offense but I have thought that some of the energy for the forums came from that. Before there was little more tension as to the degree of price drops we could debate.
Inflation vs. Deflation was big.Who is winning that one?
I wonder if the stock trading post have dropped because the excitement over making a killing shorting has disappeared? Along with more than a few dollars in some cases. For a while this looked like a traders blog…before it went OT.
One other change I have noticed.
A lot less people come in here and post for the first time asking for help with a sticky escrow or other house purchase, sale or default related problem. That kind of post was pretty common for a while. I think it is probably easier to find someone in the general public who is up to speed on these situations as related to the bust than it was 6 months or more back.July 6, 2008 at 11:59 PM #234359NotCrankyParticipantI wonder if it is possible that the great American obssesion with housing isn’t almost over?
