I don’t post as often as I used to. The main reason is that I’ve realized that it’s going to be a long grind down, so I don’t see a need to visit this site every day.
Things were more interesting back in September and October when the housing and financial markets really started to come apart. The Bear Stearns bailout also seemed to bring a lot of posters to this site.
But now, things seem to just be slowly drifting down, so there aren’t really any inflection points or major financial events to draw posters here.

July 3, 2008 at 3:53 PM #232732poorsaverParticipantThis site is a regular for me, has been for over two years since I sold my home and started renting for the first time in 26 years. Changed my handle from “cashman” to “poorsaver” recently after the series of rate cuts from Uncle Ben destroyed the yields on my savings accounts. I still find lots of useful stuff here. One of my daily reads.

July 3, 2008 at 5:27 PM #232752JWM in SDParticipantI guess I’m not the only one who noticed the slowdown in traffic here over the past few weeks. I think I agree with DWCAP in that many of the hardcore posters here, including myself, have basically won. Our view has been vindicated for the most part whether everyone wants to admit it or not. DWCAP’s other observation is also accurate. Many of the new posts seem to be deathbed converts who think this is a RE / Foreclosure Miracle site or something. They quickly figure out that it is not what they are hoping for. Additionally, life has a way of distracting one. I know I have not had the time to post, although I still lurk, because there are a lot changes going on in my family. For one thing we are leaving San Diego in a few weeks and moving to the Coachella Valley area. I just spent today interviewing new daycare providers for my 7 month old son.
