I find myself in agreement with most of the comments. The repartee and brain power here is awesome. I too distain the political and religious discussions. They REALLLY detract. There are a few posters, such as big sdr and lil’ sdr and many others who make this site so rewarding. In 2005 I though SD was in for a 30% correction, now I think maybe I was too conservative.

re: I will say though that I believe there is a VERY large segment of lurkers that read yet do not post.I got turned on to this sight by a co-worker early spring of 06. Thanks in large part to this site I put my home in 92056 on the market in May 06 and sold in Nov. by following Jim the Realtors advice. Left SoCAL with no regrets but many fond memories (and pocketed ~2X my original 96 purchase price after paying off the mortgage and realtors).
I am still hooked on this site tho, and check in 2-3 times a month just for the entertainment value…shame you all drove powayseller out … she was (and is on her site) a riot.
Pretty sure this is my first post.

December 10, 2007 at 7:05 AM #112756lostkittyParticipantPD! I forgot about you. Glad you are alive and well. Where’s PerryChase, JG,and Cyphire?
I still read here almost daily – but only a few topics each day, and only skimming. I guess I finally found my kitty, and am no longer too concerned about the San Diego real estate. I love my life in NY, and when I’ve saved enough, I’ll get my condo for summer out there. In the meantime I will continue staying with family or renting in the summer.
Running PowaySeller off this site unfortunately changed the character of it. She spent a lot of time compiling info from other sites here – then adding her own commentary. It worked well in this format and really kept it interesting. Seems a little dull now. I don’t like her site though – just her commentary alone doesn’t do the job (boring – and I’d never pay for that – ha!). It was the intelligent BANTER here that was so incredibly educational, informative, and interesting.

I apologize to you, CardiffBaseball, and anyone else who took offense at my comments about religion
I'll accept though I don't find it to be necessary. My problem was not so much the tone of political/religious stuff, but that my tendency was to respond to a lot of that. and in my case I start spending too much time thinking of a rebuttal. Fact is I am not very religious. Christian yes, but I am not very churchy. However I feel the need at times to stick up for the humble servant type who builds a roof on a church in a poor area or Mexico or someone that stands in soup line. (even though I am not always the best representative of this kind of person). For instance I get in a shouting match about religion, that isn't something I'd picture one of these types doing, so why would I?
The lure of internet debate is a killer….
