Thanks 4plex, I do not even recall your shot at me about Green Acres, so no harm no foul. I mostly decided I just did not want to wait 5 for more years to re-enter. All my animals and everything are just too difficult to manage without a place like this.
Interesting that you have an automated emini system through Trade Station. In spite of the RE crash, I have no regrets about buying this place, I bought it for $100,000 under the replacement cost of the structures alone, so I got the 5 acres with ocean view for free, so I am content at my entry price. I will live here forever most likely.
Your long term view on Gold has been right on, I am a short term trader, so more often than not we will probably be on opposite sides of the market and could both be right at the same time.
I think the blog in general has gotten less negative, which is why I am participating again. Most people who trade have strong views on things, so it is inevitable that we will disagree on things at times. This is one of the reasons I often state, I could be wrong, because it is the truth.
December 8, 2007 at 6:57 PM #112025PDParticipantI spend a lot of my time at The Market Ticker. I swing through here every now and then to check out Rich’s latest articles.
I actually met Powayseller recently. We had a long, very cordial conversation and I enjoyed meeting her.
Someone posted this quote from Charles Mackay at The Ticker:
“Men go mad in herds but come to their senses one by one.”

December 8, 2007 at 7:19 PM #112032CAwiremanParticipantA meet up would be great.
I second the observation about PS going into realestate. I would have guessed it. But, you know, its a free country.
Going into realestate as an agent now, a bad idea? Well
it depends. If working is descreationary, and someone is in no particular hurry to learn the trade or to become profiitable, then sure, why not begin now. In 5 years, one can say, “I’ve got 5-years of experience”.We met a realter a few months ago who is still moving homes, even in this market. So, for someone who’s aggressive and intelligent, there’s business out there.
I still check in at least once or twice a day, and appreciate the posts by Rick and others who have a keen grasp of the financial – you can observe a lot by watching (reading posts) And, I feel like I’ve picked up invaluable information in RE, finance, and life in general, from time to time.

I too distain the political and religious discussions. They REALLLY detract. There are a few posters, such as big sdr and lil’ sdr and many others who make this site so rewarding. In 2005 I though SD was in for a 30% correction, now I think maybe I was too conservative.
