Gold is taking a spanking today.
Liquidated all my banks stocks. Don’t see much more upward movement near term after +10% swing in a couple days.
One thing that is certain is that chump is unpredictable and going forward anything that remotely has to do with him is unpredictable.

Investors don’t like uncertainty (but traders thrive on it)
My take on the current bounce is that most think that the new government will simply shift toward traditional Republican policies; relaxed regulation, weaker labor laws – W Bush type stuff. So that’s all good for certain sectors.
Sucks for the working class but hey, we really trounced those liberals! Woo Hoo!
It gets interesting when Trump starts messing with trade. If he even tries to do a portion of what he promised to do, it’s gonna be a mess.
So Trump either abandons much of his core platform or pushes forward into very uncertain territory.
In any case the smelting plant in Gary Indiana will remain shuttered.

I think that’s closer to the reality than democrat vs republican. The folks in the rust belt have been duped.

Spoken like a beta dude – sorry scaredy but this is beneath you. I get that you’re trying to expand on Harvey’s charming analogy – but it’s offensive. I know that most women have stopped posting on this site (none of you ever seem to wonder why) but there are a few of us left.
Also, it sounds sadly like the self soothing inner musings of the little guy at the bar who has a hard time with women and, until she left with the alpha male, thought the “almost decent looking chick” was the most gorgeous creature he ever saw. And the little guy doesn’t really know what she sees in the A male nor can he know what will happen between the two of them, but the B male sure would like it if she was subjected to horrible things so that she bitterly regrets not leaving with him.

According to a source at New York Magazine, Trump told a friend that you have to “treat [women] like shit,” seemingly to get what you want out of them.
i strongly believe donald said that, based on the pussy comment. hell, i think — no, i KNOW — lots of guys say and act on that. the intended purpose of doing that is to show you dont need potential female mates, they need you. all people tend to desire things they cannot have, so it is generally a bad mating strategy for either males or females to appear too easily attainable.
its also an effective defense mechanism against rejection, that allows more fragile men to push ahead in the mating game.
that was the source of where my off color analogy came from.
i think modern america believes that you do need to treat others like shit to establish dominance..
there certainly is some truth that we are all sexually attracted to strength, or the poortunity to impose strength on eeakness, and repulsed by sheer weakness, and any sign of weakness or neediness (esp. in initial meetings] is beta and repulsive.
treating people harshly can be a sign of strength, as was displayed beautifully in the debates:

You need to assert your badassness and treat people like shit to be admired. That’s why right wing media personalities bark like dogs.
I believe electing Trump is alpha male backlash.
Hillary was seen as a bitch.The all American alpha male as seen in popular culture came about in the 1930s. Before that, we had the sophisticated male. Things are changing and middle America doesn’t like it. Today, the educated, sensitive, environmentally conscious male is more likely to find the most desirable mate. In “elite” places a Prius or Tesla is higher status than a Hemi.
Alpha male attributes are still important but not enough. He now needs education and a path to financial success. Hence the backlash against the coastal educated “elites”.
Trump is the alpha male among the 1%. Rommey was too soft spoken and coastal elite.
