Got a verbal acceptance this morning, with signed contract (hopefully) to follow soon.
I never imagined the whole house-hunting ordeal would last more than a year. Never imagined I’d be buying an immaculate home from an equity seller, rather than an REO fixer. Never imagined I’d be paying more than the Zillow Zestimate. But I like the house, and I love the neighborhood. I like the rate. And I think this deal has good karma, so … what the heck.
Am I overpaying? Market conditions, schmarket conditions. I’m buying something durable and tangible with long-term, low-interest debt in a currency that may be headed down the toilet in the near future, so I’m not too worried.
