China reopened nature trails. Anyone want to bet when we see a spike in re-infection? I’d say maybe a month or two…
Man, if that is a hiking trail with that sort of crowd, I’ll pass. No fun. Cant imagine something like Potato Chip being like that
April 6, 2020 at 9:11 AM #816217The-ShovelerParticipantIn China I would say that the number and percent of people infected as well as recovered is drastically under counted.
I would say the USA infected as well as recovered is drastically under counted as well.
We need Anti-body tests soon.

I would be more worried about the bridges not holding up than catching the corona virus. Darwinism works on so many different levels. SMH.

Yeah. But unless the tests are free, people won’t be taking them. That’s another hurdle we face. Plus we have 15 million undocumented immigrants who will not be tested or treated because they don’t trust that the government won’t deport them. Meanwhile, they will still be cleaning houses, picking fruit and veggies, and cooking in restaurants, and of course, mingling with their families who are American citizens.
April 6, 2020 at 10:32 AM #816221The-ShovelerParticipantIf your employees (say qcom for example) get the immunity pass and can go back to work, that’s what matters.
Smaller stores ect.. should be able to afford it or gov should give it for free once enough tests are available.
April 6, 2020 at 11:07 AM #816222FlyerInHiGuestInteresting, shoveler.
I tend to think of everything in terms of incentives. If one is getting paid to stay at home, what incentive does one have to get the immunity pass?We know that tests and antibody tests will not be widely available for a while. Plus it will cost many $ billions to test the population (not possible IMO).
I think that when a Covid vaccine is available, we will roll it out just like the annual flu vaccine. People who want it can get it. Medicare will pay for it like it does for the flu vaccine.
Meanwhile, social distancing in some form or another will last for a couple years. As it is, schools are closed for the rest of the year. It will be years before things return to a new “normal”.

IMO it will be a 1 or 2 months before most of the country is open.
Gets warm, people will just start going out no matter what.

Ok, but being open does not mean that customers will come.
I can think of some people who will still be on self lockdown and not return to restaurants and normal social activities. For sure, business travel will not resume for a couple years as employees refuse to go.

The first phase, on people living in hot spots begun after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted an emergency authorization for testing kits on April 1.
Once you know your immune why would you not go, me I would be the first one on the plane to Hawaii LOL.

April 6, 2020 at 12:11 PM #816227FlyerInHiGuestI am surprised that in San Diego, a navy town, people aren’t talking about the captain that was fired for writing to his superiors about infections on his ship. Not only was he fired, but the Navy Secretary fired him to preempt Trump from doing so. Plus the Navy Secretary gave a profanity filled speech to the crew of the ship to disparage the captain.
Wow!
April 6, 2020 at 2:00 PM #816231FlyerInHiGuestBoris Johnson in ICU. Overweight people have more breathing problems and are more likely to go to ICU when they get Covid.
