    I apologize if somebody already posted this

    It seems like some people can not be helped. They will always spend more than they have. If they can not keep a house that is given to them for free, what is the point of helping them?

    That supports the theory that the environment is not the determining factor, meaning you take a stupid irresponsible person and plug him/her in good environment, they will revert to what they were before.

    Respect for money is a learned thing. Some learn it late, some never learn it. For someone that doesn’t have that respect, being given a whole lot of money does not teach anything and in fact can make the situation worse. That’s why lottery winners frequently go bankrupt after a few years.
