ParticipantI have no idea if he will run independent, but even if he did he wouldn’t win this year. Wish that wasn’t true, but too many voters are attracted to the BS that other nominees run with, and not concerned with those that want to cut through all the BS.
I look at it this way, we for sure can’t do any worse than the damage that W has done both internally and externally to our nation.

GuestI wish Ron Paul would have a shot at president, but sadly, he really doesn’t. If we had a really nasty depression like the 30s (which I don’t think will happen), then an independent with some really radical ideas might have a shot. But we, as a country, as much more concerned about the status quo and our personal well-being right now. Someone who would really shake things would be too uncomfortable for most voters imo.

It’s incredibly arrogant and condescending to assume that anyone who doesn’t support Paul is either ignorant or selfish. I know what he stands for, and, like most people, I think he’s wrong. That’s why we have elections.
I look at it this way, we for sure can’t do any worse than the damage that W has done both internally and externally to our nation.
That’s setting the bar pretty low…
