Tax credit qualification help

I am involved in a short sale, and I was told by my agent (a dual agent) that my contract would qualify even though the counteroffer was signed by me on 5/3. I am first time buyer and qualify re to income.

I am beginning to doubt, because the counteroffer was dated 4/29 but not signed by me until 5/3. The agent did not state that there was an urgency in signing the contract by 4/30.
THen the bank accepted the offer 5/17 and now I’m in escrow. Please tell me if I qualify, especially if you have a tax background. But any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am beginning to doubt the integrity of the agent.

I am not an expert, but my guess would be no. Federal tax rebate required you to be in escrow by April 30th. I don’t think making an offer counts.
