I’m throwing a flag here! Stop the political threadjack. This is a question about the merits of installing solar systems on homes not Cap and Trade.

Thank you! I wish to someday install solar on the home I will hopefully someday buy, and this thread had been great until the shit flingers stepped in. Perfect example of the type of threadjacking that we don’t need. Note, however, that the jack was started by faterikcartman and his ‘Dear Leader’ comments, not brian. Although brian could have restrained himself from feeding the trolls.

Brian cannot help injecting politics into the discussion of solar and as usual he is full of it. The increased cost of energy is germane to making the cost of a solar installation affordable.
Brian wrote: “Electricity will not be rationed because of lack of oil.”
“The previous Dear Leader, before he departed, already caused oil to skyrocket in price so oil is hardly even used in electricity generation.”
“In 2008, ‘Largely due to a sharp rise in oil prices, petroleum-fired generation fell 29.7 percent, to 46 million MWh. Its share of total net generation dropped to 1.1 percent.'”
