Jim Jones and garysears both beat me too it, but I can tell you that for junior enlisted you can make a pretty penny doing a DITY move if you’re willing to sweat a little. The money the Navy gives you for a relocation allowance is quite a bit more than a UHAUL will cost you, including fuel/food costs. My brother did a few DITY moves, made out well each time. I would have done it when I was younger and enlisted, but I would never do it now as I have WAY TOO MUCH CRAP!
