And you left out that he said drug treatment should be free and available to all.
Sometimes I wonder why I even try sometimes, you win, my heroes are bad, yours are good. But I will mourn mine. I don’t need company, carry on, I hope you get the government you deserve.
July 13, 2019 at 8:19 AM #813024spdrunParticipantTreatment is good, but not all users are a problem. Drug treatment should be available, but recreational use should also not be criminalized.
And what about his idea of cordoning off parts of US cities, kicking down doors, and searching house-to-house. Is that acceptable or Constitutional in your book?

We lost two guys I really like….
Ross Perot and John McCain.
I never thought I’d say this.. But Nancy Pelosi isn’t as bad as I use to think…100x better than AOC fringes….
I don’t know. I think the Democrat party is on the verge of a breakup and splintering. And that might be a great thing.
I’m hoping a lot of a moderates bailout on this party and a lot of moderates that bailed out of the republican party can find something the rally under and leave this extremes on the both side once and for all. AOC, Warren, Bernie, Harris, can keep the old democrat party…But they might as well change the party name to the American Socialist Party at that point….I think both parties really stopped representing most americans once the extreme wackos started taking over.
July 13, 2019 at 6:04 PM #813029spdrunParticipantBecause ideas that work everywhere else in the world, like cheap/free public postsecondary education, infrastructure spending vs military waste, and universal (or nearly so) healthcare are too good for Americans. LOL!
McCain was a warmongering little prick. Not mourning him either.

I would agree with that. We need a new party. Neither the Dems or the Reps are anything close to my flavor or most of my friend’s flavor. Extremists in both of those parties.
And both of those parties are throwing out the moderates. That’s why the number of folks registering as undeclared are growing. I’ve been that way since I started to vote. Glad to see many are joining me.
July 13, 2019 at 11:15 PM #813031FlyerInHiGuestRoss Perot economics was wacko. He commits the fallacy of paradox of thrift.
Perot was a military type prick. We would have had an American version of apartheid had he been elected. He redneck followers would get treatment for drugs addiction but others would live in cordoned off cities.

Really flu? You need to read some Descartes and think logically.
Remember supply and demand? Republicans like to say that Democrats want “free stuff”. And democratic leaders like Bernie and AOC promise to deliver “free stuff”. Highly rational demand and supply. Nothing wacko about that.
Republicans are all about nationalism, nativism, badass military adventurism, etc… Except for the rich, Republican voters get no economic return. I’m talking about the wacko Trump supporters in the dying industrial towns and rural areas.

You left out: Manspreading.
July 14, 2019 at 10:23 AM #813035FlyerInHiGuest
Insults hurtled were meant for the person knocking one of my heroes. Heard the soy boy comment from John and Ken mentioning their trips to whole foods and seeing skinny guys afraid of gluten and lamenting that if WW2 were today, we’d lose. But totally beside the point and yet an unintended consequence of my poor choice of ways to illustrate the irony of Brian criticizing Perot.
I had no idea who John and Ken were. But google was my friend. I never listen to AM radio.
https://www.iheart.com/podcast/john-and-ken-on-demand-20635765/episode/kfi-am-640-29088392/I’m a proud to be a soy boy or a girly man. I’m in better shape than my college friends have turned into fat asses with back pain and on prescription meds. I can do physical labor all day. Those guys have stagnated and haven’t grown intellectually.
The American notion of manhood is so fucked up and low-class — people eating BBQ and stuffing their faces with junk food, like the Carl’s Jr. commercial. Do people really aspire to this?
During July 4th holiday, I had the chance to meet Rear Admiral Larry Chambers who commanded the USS Midway. He’s modest and well spoken and intellectual. 90yo man who still walks 3 miles a day. Those are the real men who win wars and keep us from stupid wars. There is no need to be badass, the Trump way.

soy boy?
ugh. right wing radio offensive language.
people function in the system we have. would way more people ride bikes if it were perceived as safer? yeah.
would they prefer not to commute an hour a day each way? yeah.
but its a car, military, commute, oil, obese culture.
the choices are limited by the structure in place
as for economic austerity would individuals be way better off if they didnt drive a car for a few years? yeah
mrmoneymustache for president!
I’m not offended by soy boy. It think it’s funny that “real men” like to use childish nicknames. They are the ones oh so fragile and easily offended by perceived disrespect of their less than ideal lifestyles. They fail to realize the very notion of conservatism implies social disapprobation as a means to foster civilized behavior. Conservatism also implies self control and rigor. If science says eating hot dogs is bad, then, duh, stop eating fucking hot dogs! What’s wrong with shopping at Whole Foods? Capitalists should celebrate people who earn the money to shop there.
Scaredy, you bike from Temecula to San Diego. I don’t see any “real American” doing that.
July 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM #813039CoronitaParticipantGet out the China Pom Poms, Briansd…. lol…
As you always say Briansd, isn’t China great or what!!!!!
https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/15/politics/susan-rice-chinese-diplomat-tweets/index.html
“Former national security adviser Susan Rice condemned a Chinese diplomat as “a racist disgrace” following incendiary tweets by the envoy. In an apparent attempt to deflect international criticism of China’s mass detention of Muslims and other religious minorities in the Xinjiang province, Lijian Zhao wrote a series of tweets this weekend that were seemingly meant to highlight flaws in the United States, including racism, gun violence and income inequality. Zhao referenced a joint statement signed by 22 countries last week in condemnation of China’s moves in Xinjiang, where up to two million people have reportedly been detained in the camps and subjected to torture and forced re-education. He also mentioned a separate joint statement from 37 countries — many of which with their own shaky human rights records — which commended China for its “remarkable achievements in the field of human rights.” He called this letter a “big slap on the face of US &its western cohorts.”
In two of those tweets — which have since been deleted — the deputy chief of mission in Islamabad wrote that if “you’re in Washington, D.C., you know the white never go” to the southeastern part of the city “because it’s an area for the black & Latin.”July 15, 2019 at 11:23 AM #813040FlyerInHiGuestA junior diplomat posted to a shithole country.
And what did Trump tweet recently?
July 15, 2019 at 11:51 AM #813042FlyerInHiGuestabout nicknames… i don’t mind being soyboy.
Chihuahua, that’s what I’ll call Ross Perot. his small frame, short hair and high pitched bark remind me of a chihuahua. Since Perot hated Spanish and wanted English at the official language, a Mexican nickname fits him very well. Chihuahua it is!

Ah, so then you are ok with this in China..Basically, admitting Trump and China pretty much feel and act the same way…….And you are a racist, as I previously suspected…. Thanks for confirming it….
It’s ok. It’s been proven progressives can be racists too.
