Ideal running mate: Asian woman at the state assembly/senate level, moderate, not chinese. No ammunition to give the Trump administration to go after. Trump administration can’t play the “socialist” card.
Biden should pick a highly educated Chinese American woman whose parents are professors from China, and whose brother is a corporate executive in China. All that shouldn’t be relevant, but if one thinks it is, then one is not living up to America’s ideal.
If anything, the pick would show how ugly Republicans are.

Totally.
I think he should just wear a mask all the time until November, and when somebody asks him a question, just point to his mask and kinda shake his head and throw his hands up as if to say, “sorry. Mask. Can’t talk.” And maybe wear a gag underneath it in case the urge to talk overwhelms him.
Only half joking.

LOL

I’m on pins and needles every time he talks. It’s going to be a long 4 1/2 months.
You worry too much…Worst case is Trump gets term limited out.
Supreme Court ruled in favor of LGBT! See, it’s not all bad 🙂

Trumps repub. Support recently “plummeted” to 85%. Jesus fuckin christ. 85% through this? The overwhelming majority are on his side. He could pull it off.If 85 perc. Of repub. Today support trump, and that number plummeted from the 90s, then there is an overwhelming chance that every single person i meet who identifies repub. Is not a person i would trust.
After I read the book White Fragility, I realized why I stopped trusting Republicans. because they are truly intellectually dishonest. They want to be able to “say it like it is” and they love to “say it it like it is”, but they are ever so fragile over anything that’s said about them
If you watch right-wing media or Trump, it’s always them being offended about what other people say or do. These “badass” Americans are such wusses. They don’t propose anything constructive or do anything productive.

Well, I definitely worry too much.
But, in this case, I think 4 1/2 more years of trump and the irreparable damage to our country that it could cause is legitimately worrisome. Just having RBG replaced by another Kavanaugh is pretty terrifying. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Yes, the 6-3 ruling was a pleasant surprise. Hoping (but not thinking) that kind of thing keeps happening.

Apparently China would prefer a trump reelection for the long term damage he does to America’s world standing. Absolutely amazing and sad that America could be dumb enough to elect him twice.

I honestly don’t think it would be remotely possible without right-wing propaganda.

China and all our competitors want Trump.
Objectively, Trump did a lot of damage to US power.
But Republicans believe that America is winning. If that’s what winning looks like then I’m sure our competitors are happy to let us win.June 16, 2020 at 12:27 PM #818312phasterParticipant

Apparently China would prefer a trump reelection for the long term damage he does to America’s world standing. Paula White, Trump’s Personal Pastor, Joins the White HousePaula White, a televangelist based in Florida and personal pastor to President Trump whom he has known since 2002, has joined the Trump administration in an official capacity, according to a White House official.
Ms. White will work in the Office of Public Liaison, the official said, which is the division of the White House overseeing outreach to groups and coalitions organizing key parts of the president’s base. Her role will be to advise the administration’s Faith and Opportunity Initiative, which Mr. Trump established last year by executive order and which aims to give religious groups more of a voice in government programs devoted to issues like defending religious liberty and fighting poverty.
As Mr. Trump campaigns for a second term, he cannot afford to lose support from the religious conservatives who voted for him in 2016 in significant numbers. Without their backing, his path to re-election would be significantly narrower.

The prosperity gospel, explained: Why Joel Osteen believes that prayer can make you rich…As Laura Turner notes in an excellent piece for BuzzFeed, no theological tradition is as rife for accusations of hypocrisy as the “prosperity gospel,” a distinctively American theological tradition. While it’s popular among many evangelical Protestants, it’s been condemned by many others. But to many of its critics, especially since the election of Donald Trump, this tradition has come to represent the worst of the conflation of American-style capitalism, religion, and Republican party politics.
The prosperity gospel is an umbrella term for a group of ideas — popular among charismatic preachers in the evangelical tradition — that equate Christian faith with material, and particularly financial, success. It has a long history in American culture, with figures like Osteen and Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, glamorous, flashily-dressed televangelists whose Disneyland-meets-Bethlehem Christian theme park, Heritage USA, was once the third-most-visited site in America.
A 2006 Times poll found that 17 percent of American Christians identify explicitly with the movement, while 31 percent espouse the idea that “if you give your money to God God will bless you with more money.” A full 61 percent agree with the more general idea that “God wants people to be prosperous.”

All that effort to get your guy on the bench, all the money, and he basically takes a giant crap on every evangelical church in the nation, essentially telling them G-d doesnt hate fags and you cant fire them.
Haha,suck it christians!!!
And to add insult to injury, gorsuch claims his opinion is based on originalism, the plain text of the law!
As does the dissent.
Which indicates that “hey just read the text, no interpretation allowed ” is a theory that may not be useful in hard cases at best, and is a GIANT LIE at worst.
Bad day to be a tinyminded shitty little christian conservative.
So funny! Made my day.
Todays score america 1, christian bullshit 0.
