Sorry, my post was overly snooty.
My post shouldn’t have suggested those who like Olive Garden have no clue about food. i also think the garlic sticks at Olive Garden are good, particularly when paid for by a business expense account. My post was more about the people who SWEAR up and down that Olive Garden and Red Lobster have absolutely exceptional, great food. I wasn’t assuming you were of that belief.
It’s fine stockstradr. You’re right, you won’t get the same quality food that’s served in the higher class restaurants, and you sure as hell won’t get the desserts-which is probably more important to me. I’m a dessert freak! :)Still, Red Lobster is ok.

April 29, 2008 at 9:46 PM #196376svelteParticipantThere are also some amazing torta shops…
Tortas! I just discovered those in the last year and have been eating myself silly. Uh, that came out wrong.
Tortas are the most amazing thing – can’t get enough.
We haven’t had trouble being seated most anywhere on a Fri or Sat night for quite awhile. We went to George’s on 5th this weekend and were seated right away.
One of our favorite Italian restaurants in Encinitas just changed their menu – much less expensive but much less quality too. We’ll probably not go back. The funny thing is they are busier now than ever. Maybe going downscale was the right decision for them.

I guess that is the only time in my life that I would complained about the quality of free food.
The lobster was like a super salty rubber….(Wonder how they got it so tough without burning it)
