I am looking to establish a IRA funded by precious metals (physical posession). I have read the rules and from what I gather you need two things:
1. An IRA agent that has experience in precious metal based IRAs.
2. A depository that actually keeps physical possession of the metals. Neither the investor or their agent is allowed to physically possess the metal.
While I am not quite “tin foil” I do not have much confidence in our currency and the securities markets upon which they are based.
Does anyone know of local (San Diego) based companies that handle the agency and the depository functions?
The tin foil part of me (yes, there is a small part of me that is TF) would like to know that both my metal and the people involved in managing it are within the county.
