I hope so … I don’t see how it could get to Highland Ranch Road, there’s no undeveloped land in the area. It would half to burn through half of Poway to get there. It would be top news.
Either it is an isolated fire or they meant Highland _Valley_ Road, IMHOOctober 22, 2007 at 8:40 PM #90844EugeneParticipantI hope so … I don’t see how it could get to Highland Ranch Road, there’s no undeveloped land in the area. “The hardest hit areas were all in the northeastern part of Poway. The neighborhoods of Maderas and Highland Ranch and houses on Old Coach Road and St. Andrews Drive were especially hard hit”this makes no sense, Highland Ranch is nowhere near that.

The last I checked is that the Witch fire has now moved near Fairbanchs Ranch (approach). Del Mar residencesy residence are being asked to evac.
As I posted on another thread, I have evaced from Carmel Valley and now am in Los Angeles. As such, I cannot provide any additional updates beyond what I can read from UT.
I left CV around 7:30pm, and traffic I-5 northbound was fine. The smoke was modereate think near I-5/56 area, but seemed to be less when we got to carlesbad. Then, it got really heavy right before camp pendelton. And dropped off as we approached the checkpoint. Traffic was fine I-5 northbound.
If you are near any areas currently being evaced but haven't been asked to evac, and you haven't started to pack, please do yourself a favor and start packing.
If you're frantic, and need some suggestions on what to take, take a look here

Also, if you aren't living alone, have someone stay up watching the news all night (take turns). You and your family's safety is worth the restless night.
I wish the best of luck and safety for all of you. Although I am not pious, I will definitely wish the best for all of you tonight. Good luck and safe travel wherever you folks are going.
