    Is it just me, or do others feel that the whole “swine flu” thing is merely another wagging of the dog?

    I, for one, am firmly of the opinion that, one year from today, we will all be laughing at the dire predictions being made this summer: 60-120 million Americans will get it this fall and winter? Another 30 million will get it and not experience symptoms/not know it? Don’t worry, I’ll wash my hands and do what I can to prevent the spread of disease as I already do but, otherwise, I call bullshit on the whole thing! Does anyone remember April and May of 2009, for Christsake?!?! All the canceled trips and fears of flying?!?

    I look forward to re-visiting this topic next August 25. Hopefully, I am right and the swine flu hypsters are wrong. I suspect we will know much sooner than next summer;)

    My coworker went home to the UK and contracted it. Nothing more than a nasty flu for a few days.

    I agree.

    Y2K, terrorism, etc… It’s easier to control people when they live in fear — fear of the flu, fear of terrorism, fear of immigrants…

    Interesting that the government doesn’t want people to fear buying a house or spending money.

    We really need to put things in perspective, accept and live with everyday risks.
