I say watch your sugar intake. People count calories and watch fats, but totally disregard sugar. If you don’t work out, your body will store it as fat. Also, back in the day, say parents or grandparents, they used real sugar, not high fructose corn syrup. I seriously think HFCS is evil and a real good source of the obesity in America. Check the ingredients of just about anything, b/c HFCS is probably in it. Hard to get away from it. Is it just coincidence that way back when people were not obese and real sugar was being used.
On the bright side, not that I’m a big soda drinker, but Hansen’s now indicates on their beverages they do not use HFCS but cane sugar. But if you check ingredients on just about anything, not just drinks, HFCS will be found.
Edit: Beware of HFCS. I think it’s insidious.

Then make your salad every day and throw them in the salad, super fast to make and very satisfying. You can pile lettuce very high, it takes longer to eat, and is filling with low calories. Just be mindful of what you eat it with.
I love raspberry vinaigrette dressing, I eat it all the time, plus, it digests so much better

April 7, 2009 at 11:21 AM #377451nostradamusParticipantSounds good ibjames!
Since Fresh ‘n Easy opened near me I’ve been eating very healthy and very cheaply. $20 at FnE feeds me for 5 days with salad, fruit, beans, whole-wheat bread, fresh-squeezed juice, and a little lean meat.
Check out this guy who is trying to become obese! He went from fitness model to “average American”. Now he’s dying.
