It was funny that the Brits got in such a tizzy over Romney’s comments.

I love the “middle of nowhere” comment from David Cameron.

I’m strangely excited about archery this olympics.

And high jump. Never gets the full coverage it deserves.

Want to see the young decathlete who set a world record in the US trials do well. Decathlon is a tough one, though. Ten opportunities for something to go wrong.

Also keeping an eye on the US Women’s soccer team.

Stupid US Men’s U23 team didn’t even qualify. Stupid. Annoying. Bodes poorly for the future.

I’m a little tired of the Phelps juggernaut, but he is so impressive, you can’t help but watch in awe.

Less excited about the gymnasts this year, for some reason.

Gotta love Usain Bolt and those other Jamaican sprinters.

My niece is working at the Olympics with her Dad doing some really cool things. I get a constant flow of information and pictures via FB. Wish I could have gone. Its on my bucket list

Easiest way to find particular stuff is to click on the TV Schedule by Sport tab. Some of it’s live, some is delayed.

I wanted to watch the Boston-NYY game followed by the Giants-Dodgers. Since I am apparently not very manly, I lose the big-screen tonight.

Since I have it on I am hoping to hear the Pink Floyd thing I’ve seen rumored on Twitter.

I thought that it was a very appropriate statement on the history of modern Britain. It’s a statement of universal values that’s especially relevant in 2012.

Britain is a monarchy, run by a conservative government. Mitt Romney who developed Romney Care is a guest in Britain. America is the only major country without universal health care.

I think that the artistic license on the part of Danny Boyle was very appropriate.

Mitt Romney has that slightly shifty charm, that wouldn’t be out of place in British boardrooms. I don’t know if being of English ancestry has anything to do with that. His comments may have hit a raw nerve, and weren’t very diplomatic, but they weren’t offensive.

As far as ceremonies and even the games themselves, it’s all a bit boring as is most sports on TV. That’s assuming you can even find them on cable with its milliard of channels.

The US teams uniform was a bit of a joke …militaristic, and just uncool. I’m sure other teams from around the world look just as absurd.

They should have done the same in Beijing! They’ll have patients handing red pouches to the doctors before the operation and the poor can bleed out on the street, would have been much more entertaining than what we saw yesterday.

For the American version they can have a 100 year old guy getting dialysis, with 5 specialists surrounding him while big chested drug reps offer up the latest medications, topped with shipping off of his head for cryogenic storage after death.
