What happens if you don’t get 2-4 mugs of coffee daily?
I watched a movie with friends yesterday. In popular culture, the depiction of getting drunk because sadness, dress, depression is problematic. People think it’s normal to get drunk.
This has happened when I ran out of coffee and couldn’t get to the store in time (I will only buy SB coffee when it is $6 or less a bag). I drink tea but my energy level usually plummets by about 4:00 – 4:30 pm, when it is usually at its highest :=0

Whatever happened to the principle of deterrence where we apply overwhelming punitive consequences to bad behavior?
And personal responsibility… When will the light bulb come on, when people look in the mirror and realize “what the fvck! Look at me, I’m a mess; by the grace of God, I’m going to pull myself up by the bootstraps!”
It’s not that hard. Just say no!
People have been saying this since (at least) Aristotle’s time. It’s a matter of perspective.
People assuage their anxiety by doing things that raise their dopamine levels. You probably achieve that result through cleaning or fits of self – righteousness. Others often get their dopamine from eating, drinking or smoking. Imagine how hard it would be for you if someone told you that living in an OCD-type clean place is bad for your health (which it might be due to lack of immune challenge). You might want to be healthy but it would be so hard to leave the dishes in the sink.
Why don’t you work on your own problems a little more and spend less time being outraged over the messiness of the average joe/jane’s life? When you say “overwhelming punitive consequences” do you mean like drawing and quartering people for parking tickets?
March 9, 2016 at 10:02 AM #795464FlyerInHiGuestnjtosd, I was actually being facetious, because I remember “just say no” from Nancy Reagan. What a coincidence she just died.
Actually, I’m not afraid of dirt (I can travel abroad and eat street food just fine. Never had food poisoning in my whole life). I keep a clean house for esthetics.
March 9, 2016 at 10:12 AM #795465FlyerInHiGuestI guess opioids used to be sold over the counter for a long time before they became regulated.
March 9, 2016 at 10:18 AM #795466NotCrankyParticipantSort of related, I guess some of the exercise addicts take lots of PEDS too.
I understand that elites do it, apparently lots of average hobby athletes too maybe even some slugs.Anti-aging clinics handle a lot of the doping/steroid stuff for them.

http://www.totaltclinic.com[/quote%5DMost of the stuff those “anti-aging clinics” tout is very dangerous. For example, testosterone supplements are known to cause very high blood pressure and other circulatory problems … and the list goes on.
March 9, 2016 at 12:05 PM #795484FlyerInHiGuestI know people who do low T. One guy is a multi millionaire.
But there’s a price to pay for boosting performance… You won’t live as long, and as healthy. Sure you get and immediate boost, but there’s a price to pay. Look at Arnold, he looks like scary despite all the cosmetic surgery.
People like to believe in magic pills/potions.
Eat little meats, lots of fruit and veggies, stay skinny and off of drugs and you will live a long healthy life.

absolutely.
I practice what I preach, and I have no pain, or joint issues. I’m swift and flexible with good fine motor skills.
My peers who went for machismo and strength for one event athletic achievements all have issues. Many of them, as they got older turned pudgy because they couldn’t keep up with the exercise they “doped” for. (I use the term “dope” loosely to encompass everything from food to real dope).

Every one of them. Try it out. Take vicodin every 6 hours or so for 3 days. Then try to take a dump. Good luck. It won’t happen. Concrete. Oxy is even worse.
March 9, 2016 at 2:58 PM #795503FlyerInHiGuestI eat one banana everyday. works wonders.

BG, 23andme sent me an email about new reports. I just looked quickly… apparently there is a gene that prediicts consumption of caffeine. Looks like I’m less likely to need caffeine.
