Besides Obama lacking experience.. he has the wrong view of government, he think it’s a position of talking where you can solve all the problems by talking. You cannot, when you’re a country as large and dominant as America it changes the way things have to be handled.
The role of government is not to spread people’s wealth around – that is if we’re going to remember we have a constitution. Life, libery and the pursuit of happiness.
It makes me want to barf when he says things like that – talk about a great way to halt progress in America by removing the incentive for hard work and buying up lazy voters through giving them something for nothing.

October 17, 2008 at 9:19 AM #288578gandalfParticipantAnx, that’s dishonest. It’s a cartoon distortion of Obama’s positions. Nobody is out to destroy capitalism or punish “hard work”. Frankly, it’s a STUPID thing to say.
The tax system is INCREDIBLY regressive right now, not because of marginal rates but because of shelters, exclusions and loopholes.
Explain how the majority of corporations and wealthy individuals doing business in this country are able to book enormous sums of revenue, provide significant compensation to principals and shareholders and avoid paying ANY corporate income tax? As in ZERO tax. Shirking freeloader assholes.
Not looking for a tax accountant’s answer.
I want to know why you think that’s FAIR? How is it REWARDING hard work when you SHIFT the public tax burden to average people who can’t afford Deloitte Touche’s latest “TAX PRODUCT”?
You should stop being dishonest. The issues matter right now. This is a VERY BAD time for our country. Educate yourself and stop throwing this deceptive bullshit around.

[/quote]How do you feel about Bush’s $10 trillion in socialism to the richest of Americans and foreigners? Are you cool with Bush giving your taxpayer dollars to the super-rich?
I always see outrage amongst faux conservatives when the super-rich might have to pay an extra 1% in taxes or when a hungry child gets a reduced-priced lunch, but there doesn’t seem to be any outrage when crooked banks are given $700 billion for fraudulently-originated loans. Such hypocrisy.
