OT: Is a War Tax Coming?

You’ve got to love the name of this legislation: “Share the Sacrifice”.

As if 17.5% real unemployment, 1 out of every 4 homes underwater and 23% of all homeowners falling behind on their payments is not evidence enough that Americans have already sacrificed up the ying yang.

How about proposing a”Share the Responsibility Act?” This simple legislation would actually shift financial responsibility for these ridiculous war gambits onto the clowns who were actually responsible for the decision-making: the President and Congress. We can start by slashing their salaries by 30%. And if they still won’t stop spending, then add a 15% tax. If they can only raise enough funds to only send 5,000 more troops, well damnit, that’s how many we should be sending.

One way or another, these jokers would finally be made to realize that (a) war is not free and (b) people who didn’t want war should not be stuck with responsibility for paying for it.

I’m a “Hawk,” I’m all for war, but you are correct in the fact that we should not have to dig into our hard earned money to pay for wars. They should be paid for via the current inflated-unwarranted tax rate or salary cuts for those in congress.
