But that’s fine with me if those are activists who are posting for effect so that we consider serious issues.

Some of things I say for effect and with humor. It’s up to the reader to pick them out. I know that humor doesn’t always convey well on blogs where brevity is key.
Some conservatives want a culture war. Let’s give it to them and let’s have some fun at it too.

Consider the Republicans in Congress right now. They didn’t vote for the stimulus plan. They didn’t propose anything new but obstruct. That’s conserving back in time (at least not progressing) in my view.

I agree. The reason it’ll never work is because of human nature, and despite the fact that my argument is very pragmatic in a “Stanford educated” and “business professional” sort of way.
That will never work because of the emotional Oprah-type element of human nature.
