Agree Jupiter has great golf courses. There are many around the world, and we’re trying to play as many as possible as one of our hobbies. See Phil playing our home course often, so, even with the move to Jupiter, I’m sure they will keep a place here. Can’t imagine giving up life in our ‘hood’ entirely. He’s been a pilot for years, guess he took after his Dad who was a Navy pilot, Top Gun instructor, then a commercial pilot.
Also agree success in real estate and many other things are far more interesting than golf, but variety is the spice of life, so, imo, the more interests, the merrier.
Heading back home next week for my annual Pine Valley /Merion trip. I’m sure you’ve played them many times. Which do you prefer?
May 27, 2021 at 7:01 AM #821837scaredyclassicParticipantI own no golf gear, recently bought 3 hackysacks. Although the prospects for a pro career are super limited, I personally enjoy kicking the sack.
If you haven’t hackysacked for a few decades, like me, you might be surprised at how exhausting it is. And tricky. Right now I’m just working on knee kicks.
I was inspired by a virtuouso hackysackist I saw at Petco park. Guy was an artist.
Hack on! Three premium sacks cost me 21.00 w shipping. Develop flexibility, eye limb coordination, balance, speed and aerobic capacity. Golf, on the other hand, destroys natural habitat, costs a fortune and apparently frustrates many people. Golf makes me visualize overweight assholes, Trump, someone like that, cheating, deluding himself into thinking he’s strong because the ball goes far. Not saying that’s you, that’s just the image I get from “golf”.
Hackysack>golf, objectively.
What seems more fun? Paying 500 to drive around on overfertilized grass and swing a club for a few times, maybe screwing up and feeling bad, or kicking the sack in a park for free for hours with your high school buddies.
Where are my HS buddies. Shit.
May 27, 2021 at 7:18 AM #821838sdrealtorParticipantSame thing. Both are spending a few hours with your buds getting some exercise in a nice setting and enjoying each other’s company. Do what you love
May 27, 2021 at 8:18 AM #821842scaredyclassicParticipantInterestingly like golf gear, hackysacks now are rated for various attributes, stalling, bounciness, etc, and there are websites devoted to rating the many options. Back in 1983, I believe there was one sack. Is life really getting better w so many options? There’s even a preferred hacking shoe . Jeez.
I went for the Sandmaster, a top rated beginner sack. few deals, other than drug deals, are made wile hackysacking. Golf wins on that score.
May 27, 2021 at 8:31 AM #821844flyerParticipantAgree, everyone should do what they love. It’s all good.
sdr, we’ve played at many private and public courses, but not the ones you mentioned. Have a great trip, and enjoy!
Grew up playing at La Jolla Country Club with the family, and still enjoy that course, along with others in San Diego, Cypress Point at Pebble, Riviera, Troon in Scottsdale, etc. We also particularly love Kapalua, Mauna Kea, Poipu, Wailea, Princeville, etc. with more to look forward to in the future. All beautiful.
May 27, 2021 at 8:48 AM #821845CoronitaParticipantTranslation: no I haven’t been there, but my cock is still bigger than your cock…
Still, no one knows any famous asian porn stars? This is really disappointing. I thought rich piggs would be resourceful…

this type of one upsmanship I think is impossible with hackysacks. perhaps that’s why middle aged men refuse to hack.

One of my best friends never stopped. He’ll be 59 in July. Lives in Morningside Heights. Smiley hacks in Central Park all the time. Also a big biker. You’d love him

Because I want to support the local UCSD alumni network. Did you know that UCSD publishes a list of famous Triton alumni’s….You know people like my former colleague and boss, Nick Woodman, from GoPro is on that list…
But I was really disappointed that conveniently Evelyn Lin is not on that Triton famous people list. That is extremely sexist and biased. It’s an honest living, not something I would want to do and what I would want my kids to do, but it’s still an honest living. And she probably made more money in her career than most of the Triton alumni.
And let’s put it in perspective. She did what she did at as job. That’s 100x better than some people that do similar things under the false pretense of marriage for financial stability, like I see a lot in 92130 where some thirty something trophy spouse is hanging onto some 50+ year old old fart. I call that pathetic……There’s certainly a lot more respect deserved for the former versus the later….One worked for her money, the other married into it….Just saying…I deal with this sometimes. One of my friend had this bbq. Spouse of surgeon and doctor who had this friend, who’s husband was this almost 60year old surgeon and a trophy wife I think was in her late 30ies. She was annoying as fvck…Always talking about designer brands and shit, never worked a day in her life. I think they are going through a divorce. Apparently she’s into threesomes or something like that because she apparently asked my friend and his wife right in front of her husband…Ewe… Gross…Go figure..So there you go.
