    Hello,

    I am an international and have graduated from USD. I currently reside outside the US but have a life goal of purchasing a home in San Diego since I consider San Diego as my second home. I have studied real estate but not really pursuing it currently, although I would love to I just don’t have the opportunity. I was wondering, how hard is it for a non-US citizen to get a loan approved?

    There are lenders that cater to non-citizens, both small portfolio lenders and big banks like HSBC.

    I’m assuming you’re not a Permanent resident who would be treated the same as a citizen for mortgage purposes.

    I heard BBVA will do it with 25%. Someone I know got a mortgage through them. Check with them.
