While I agree there is room for improvement, Immigration is not unchecked, it is to some degree orchestrated and has a tendency to self adjust. The problem is the mismanagement and irresponsibilty involved in creating and “illegal” underclass of inexpensive worker bees, that we feel entitled to blame when things go bad.
I am simply advocating not scapegoating people for the reasons mentioned in several posts, either while the system remains the same or nearly the same, or until the day we have something better. My guess is that, even if the system was built to your liking, during downturns low man on the totem pole gets the stuffing kicked out of him.As Peter seems to have interjected with his post above, Human Nature isn’t going to change based on the label of legal or illegal,so lets don’t use it as an excuse.
One funny Irony that I will mention is that many unions that are less threatened by “illegals” working in CA, lobby for their inclusion as users of said union member’s services probably in part to justify budgets! Some allies!Teasing aside, I also believe they feel that inclusion is correct under the circumstances. In the cases that I am aware of, I would agree.
Thanks for the discussion.
