Hey, even George Washington grew hemp commerically…..
I have no problem with growing hemp, but the argument that it is okay because George Washington grew it is a bit undercut by the fact the man also owned slaves…

And those reasons would be? People would miss the gas stations? There isnt enough Steel to make cars anymore? Batteries dont work? Solar energy cant drive cars?http://www.evworld.com/library/lithium_shortage.pdf
Analysis of Lithium’s geological resource base shows that there is insufficient Lithium available in the Earth’s
crust to sustain Electric Vehicle manufacture in the volumes required, based solely on LiIon batteries.
Depletion rates would exceed current oil depletion rates and switch dependency from one diminishing
resource to another. Concentration of supply would create new geopolitical tensions, not reduce them. Not to mention where we are going to get the energy to recharge the batteries of the fleet of 1 billion cars and growing.
Also, we are a few years away from $300-400 oil. What is the economy going to look like then? Who will be able to afford them?
Some people will have them, just very few…

True.
But you can throw out the bathwater without jettisoning the baby too.
